Who We Are
at the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton. The Club was established in 1998, in one of South Carolina's fastest growing towns, to provide a safe and stimulating environment for Bluffton's children during their after-school hours and summer. Conveniently located near the Bluffton school campus, the 20,000 square foot Club has activities for nearly every interest of its members. The Club has a cultural arts room, computer room, industrial kitchen, gym, a games room, Teen Center and much more. The adjacent field on the Club's property provides its members with an area to practice sports, picnic, cook-out, compete in cook-offs, and enjoy fun activities such as water slides and outdoor games.
Many of the Club's special programs are rooted deeply in Bluffton's rich history. Club members regularly participate in special events and field trips which teach them the culture, history and natural attributes of living in a coastal town. Dedicated staff members, board members and volunteers have arranged kayaking tours, horseback riding, fishing trips, historical tours and classes with the members of the Society of Bluffton Artists. These events help members learn hands-on the distinct flavor of their hometown.
While honoring the past, the Club is also a leader in progressive programming as it is regularly recognized for the collective and individual achievements of it members. One of Bluffton's key programs, "Show Me The Money," acquired national recognition for its effectiveness of teaching club members work ethics and money management. This is one of many examples of how the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton helps create great futures for its members.
