Blizzard at the Blue Heron Trail – Friday, December 7, 2012

The Boys & Girls Club of Jasper celebrates the kid in all of us as the fun and folly of the season is celebrated with a rare snow storm in the Lowcountry.

For the fourth year in the row, the folks at the Jasper Club are able to convince Mother Nature to step aside from her duties and allow a rare snow storm to strike in the middle of the Lowcountry.

According to the CNN, the Christmas News Network, the storm will hit Friday, December 7, 2012 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Blue Heron Trail in Ridgeland. Join about 500 of your favorite friends and neighbors and enjoy the festivities and the Trail of Lights for some snowball fun.

Wear gloves or mittens and bring your favorite snow sledding vehicle which last year included a cafeteria tray, a beach boogie board and a sled.

Santa is also scheduled to take a break from supervising the elves and will be available for pictures for $5. Five dollars is also the cost of playing in the snow.

This is an event which the whole town gathers to celebrates the magic of the season. Sponsorships are available. For more information, please call the Boys & Girls Club of Jasper, at (cell) 843- 717-1615 or Liz Vallino, director of special events and sponsorships, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry at (843) 379-5430 x 2.
